Event News
Love Local Life The quality and diversity of locally produced foods were the celebrated topic at the Aga shop Alton, on Saturday 27th September. The Aga Local Life campaign had launched, and we had gone into every effort to make sure that our customers were treated to the best local flavours – all cooked on our very own Aga!
Aga demonstrator, Peter Hughes, was constantly cooking some enticing treats, such as a scrumptious variety of cakes and a huge Spanish omelette (that could generously feed ten people in an instant!). Peter also cooked delicious beef burgers and sausages that were supplied by our local Farm Shop. The sausages are made according to an old English recipe - they contain no preservatives and are packed with flavour.
Local producer, Hannah Pretorius, set up an attractive in-store display of her goods that included her own homemade jams, preserves, oils and flavoured sugars. Hannah had plenty of interest in her products and willingly answered questions about her goods. Consequently, many of her delicious foods had no trouble selling and were quickly snapped up by our visitors.
